The Pet Press is a free monthly magazine for Los Angeles pet lovers.

Animal Help

This section contains two of the most valuable resources any animal lover in the L.A. area should have:

Animal Help Agencies & Rescue Groups is a list of organizations and phone numbers that offer invaluable assistance regarding many questions you may have. The list includes rescue groups and animal welfare organizations large and small throughout Los Angeles.

On-Going Adoptions in the L.A. area provides a list of groups that have cats and dogs available for adoption every week. Included in this list are adoption locations throughout  L.A., dates, times, addresses, phone numbers and websites.

Up Close introduces readers to two non-profit animal help or rescue groups in each issue. The Pet Press puts the spotlight on these groups by explaining the services they provide, their adoption procedures, specific needs, etc.

Animals Helping People features heart-warming, inspirational stories about Pet-Assistance Therapy animals.  Also included are programs that use animals to help disadvantaged young people learn about the care and responsibilities of animals. As the paper continues to grow, we hope to receive stories about police dogs, search dogs, and other animals that help people. Learn about What Makes A Good Therapy Dog»

Read Melissa's Story», a wonderful example of the work done by a group called Nonviolence Works (now known as Paws for Peace) that helps at-risk youth learn the value of practicing kindness, respect, compassion, and responsibility.

Or read about Pets in the Hood», a program implemented by the Villalobos Rescue Center that brings rescued pit bulls into lock-down juvenile facilities in the "hood" of Los Angeles.

Meet Wheely Willy», a very special pet assistant therapy dog.

First published in August of 1999, The Pet Press has become THE only local resource for
pet lovers in the Los Angeles area. The mission of The Pet Press is three-fold:

Promote Responsible Pet Care

Promote Spaying And Neutering

Promote the Rescue & Adoption of Pets
